Here you can find out more about our committee and our members.
HRDF’s committee is made up of local disabled people who have many years’ experience of a range of issues affecting disabled people in their day-to-day lives. Through their personal lives and other voluntary work, they are also in contact with other disabled people with a range of impairments, meaning that they can use their knowledge in their work with HRDF.
Current committee members are:
- Rosemary Iddenden (Chair)
- Ann Hadland (Secretary)
- Jane Staples (Treasurer)
- Alan Care (Committee Member)
- Angela Dicker (Committee Member)
- Vivien Nederkoom (Committee Member)
Our individual members are people with physical or sensory impairments living in Hastings and Rother. We keep in touch with our members through our news sheet, which can be sent out by e-mail or by post. If you have an issue which you think HRDF could help with, please do not hesitate to contact us using any of the methods on the Contact Us page.
We have 10 associate members. These are local public or voluntary sector organisations who are interested in our work.
HRDF regularly works with both Hastings Borough Council and Rother District Council, as well as Hastings Voluntary Action and Rother Voluntary Action. We are represented on a number of different groups to ensure that the voice of people with physical and sensory impairments in Hastings and Rother are represented. Some of the groups which we regularly work with are:
- Hastings and St Leonards Coastal Users Group
- Hastings Community Network
- East Sussex Better Together
- Rother District Council’s Equality and Diversity Group
We are keen to be represented at local community events for disabled / older people, or people with long-term conditions, where we aim to have a stall so we can promote our work.
